CONTINUED FOCUS ON CUSTOMER SERVICE SEES IMAGO EXPAND ITS SALES TEAM

imago, the hospitality and conferencing brand of Loughborough University, has expanded its sales team to continue providing the best possible customer service.

The addition of a Revenue Manager, a Marketing Executive and Event Management Assistant reflects the continued success of imago’s accommodation services which span the University, The Link Hotel and Burleigh Court. It has also welcomed a New Business Development Manager and a Coordination Manager to support its current high standard of customer service whilst proactively reaching out to new markets. The new appointments have also been made in anticipation of a busy 2012 with Olympic teams from Great Britain and Japan based at Loughborough University.

Paul Cooper, the New Business Development Manager, will be the driving force behind fresh sales ideas and customer incentives whilst working to introduce imago to Europe by attending IMEX in Hamburg and EITBM in Barcelona. Coordination Manager Nicola Wilson has been tasked with controlling quality standards and liaising with imago’s management and operation teams to deliver outstanding events for its clients.

Emma Boynton, Sales and Marketing Manager at imago, said: “The recession has hit the hospitality market hard and our response has been to make sure customer service levels remain consistently high. 2012 will be a big year for us with Burleigh Court celebrating its 21st year, the two Olympic teams using our facilities in addition to sustaining current business growth. The unique customer service imago provides, from the initial booking through to the final event, separates it from large chain venues and has been instrumental in building a strong customer base. The appointment of Paul and Nicola will provide another resource for extending this unique support whilst keeping the business competitive by looking for opportunities in new market sectors.

“We invest in staff from across all four venues and two of our new recruits are joining us from The Link Hotel. We want to give all employees the opportunity to grow and take that next step in their career. For the customer that translates to staff that know the company inside out and can therefore provide the best service possible.”

Team Møller Centre cycles from Copenhagen to Cambridge

As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations for The Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller Centre for Continuing Education, a group of Møller Centre staff will be cycling from Copenhagen, Denmark on Friday 1st June 2012 arriving at The Møller Centre in Cambridge on Monday 11th June 2012. The team have chosen to start in Copenhagen as this is where the A.P. Møller-Maersk Group headquarters is located and is also where the A.P. Møller and Chastine Mc-Kinney Møller Foundation is based that donated the money to Churchill College for the establishment of The Møller Centre.

The trip is approximately 700 miles long and will take the cycling team through Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, and across the North Sea to the UK. The team consisting of Mark Carberry, Stefan Mitham, Mark Campbell and Michael Herriott aim to raise £10k for EACH (East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices), but can only do this with the support from the public.

“Raising money for EACH is a great way of The Møller Centre saying thank you to our clients and the community in supporting us over the last 20 years to build the business we have today. Being able to include our Danish colleagues from the A.P Møller-Maersk Group in with this event helps us to celebrate our 20th anniversary, as well as giving something back to our local community. Being a passionate cyclist I cannot wait for the challenge ahead throughout Northern Europe” comments Stefan Mitham, Key Account Manager at The Møller Centre.

You can help The Møller Centre team by making a donation on our just giving page www.justgiving.com/dk2uk or donate an item or experience to the evening charity auction being held at The Møller Centre on Monday 14th May 2012.

Burleigh Court celebrates turning 21

Burleigh Court has provided meeting and event facilities for thousands of companies, luxurious accommodation for over a million guests and catering for everyone from Olympic athletes to wedding parties and this year celebrates 21 years as one of region’s favourite four star destinations.

The hotel, spa and meetings venue, run by Loughborough University’s hospitality brand imago, is celebrating this milestone by hosting a number of exciting events and activities throughout 2012. In addition to a gala dinner in March, the Burleigh Court team will be offering exclusive customer discounts and teaming up with local suppliers to launch unique imago treats including its own specially brewed ale.

2012 is set to be a momentous year for the whole imago team as it becomes the official host venue of Team GB and the Japanese Olympic team, with a number of top athletes due to stay at Burleigh Court during training.

Kay England, imago Chief Executive and team member since Burleigh Court opened 21 years ago, said: "I was here on the day that Burleigh Court first opened and I'm proud of where it now stands as a leading Leicestershire venue and host of two Olympic teams.

"The venue itself has vastly changed since a £8.5 million expansion in 2006 when the venue nearly doubled in size. This is the ideal year to celebrate 21 years in business as we not only mark this achievement but welcome athletes preparing for the 2012 Games.”

In 2009, a further £400,000 was invested to bring the original Burleigh Court bedrooms up to the same standard as those created in the 2006 expansion. In January 2012, £60,000 was also spent on the bar and lounge to create a relaxing space for guests and athletes alike. Since opening the venue has won numerous awards in recognition of its meeting facilities and accessibility status. Burleigh Court currently employs 82 staff members.

imago also manages Holywell Park, a versatile conference and exhibition centre and The Link, a quality budget hotel which is ideally located for access to the University, the M1 and East Midlands Airport. It also has a range of meeting facilities and accommodation across Loughborough University campus.
