Recognising the value of learning - Training Journal event at The Møller Centre, Cambridge

Thursday 25th February, The Møller Centre, Cambridge

One of emerging themes of the L& D 2020 Phase 1 report was the question of how to validate workplace learning and as more learning at work becomes social and informal this becomes an even greater challenge. In this one-day workshop we will be looking at the accreditation of learning. McDonalds' Restaurants will be describing how they deliver and accredit their education and learning and experts in accreditation, HE@Work will be explaining how to turn that learning into a degree.

Key benefits of attending:
• Learn how training and work-based learning can count towards a higher education award
• Understand the criteria required for different levels of award
• Gain insight on how existing L&D programmes have potential for accreditation
• Understand the principles of accreditation
• Gain awareness of the processes to gain accreditation
• Work on a case study for accreditation.
The workshop will offer participants the opportunity to find out how to gain recognition for the quality of the learning and development they currently offer, whether this is training, existing professional institute qualifications or on the job learning, and to incorporate this with evidence of learning from the workplace to gain a higher education award. You will see how this can enhance and integrate with existing personal development programmes and appraisal processes and bring benefits in improved retention and better motivated staff.
