Awards success underlines all-round quality of Conference Centres of Excellence line-up

Even though the year is less than three months old, members of Conference Centres of Excellence - the UK's largest group of specialist conference and training venues -have already clinched a significant spectrum of awards. Their success helps to emphasise the all-round standards of quality and service that the consortium represents.

M& IT success
The latest clutch of awards came in the prestigious Meetings & Incentive Travel awards, on the eve of International Confex, with members achieving the following awards

Warwick Conferences (with CCE members Arden House, Radcliffe House and Scarman House)
: Gold in ‘Best UK Management Training Centre’ (Scarman)
: Gold in ‘Best Value for Money Conference Venue’
: Gold in ‘Best Conference & Banqueting Staff’
: Gold in ‘Best Academic Venue’

Imago at Burleigh court
: Gold in ‘Best UK Conference Centre’
: Silver in ‘Best Conference & Banqueting Staff’

Conference Aston
: Silver in ‘Best UK Management Training Centre’
: Bronze in ‘Best Academic Venue’
: Finalist in ‘Best Conference & Banqueting Staff’

RBS Williams FI Conference Centre

The M&IT triumph follows hard on the heels of a remarkable performance by Conference Centres of Excellence in the BDRC ‘VenueVerdict Gold Standard’ awards for customer service.

In total its members represented more than a quarter of only 19 venues which qualified for the much-prized standard. One of the successful venues, Maple House in Birmingham also clinched BDRC’s ‘No 1 Conference Centre’ title.

The BDRC ‘VenueVerdict Gold Standard’ is only given to venues which deliver the very highest levels of customer satisfaction over a period of time. The successful CCE members were:

Maple House, Birmingham
The Royal College of Physicians, Regent’s Park, London
The Cotswold Conference Centre, Broadway
Lane End Conference Centre, High Wycombe
The Moller Centre, Cambridge

Shared success
It is one of Conference Centres of Excellence’s fundamental business principles that all of its members share the same, sector-leading standards of quality in terms of facilities, service, customer support and all-inclusive value for money. “The latest awards are clearly major accolades for the venues that have achieved them, but they also reflect well on all our other members,” said Executive Director Anthony Lishman: “It’s our determined policy to share best practice across all aspects of our service.”

The consortium’s ‘Hotline’ team provides a free, venue-finding service for corporate clients and agencies, providing single-source guidance on facilities, availability and rates for each member venue, and maintaining contact with customers through to completion of their event. The team can also provide information on the latest special offers. Conference Centres of Excellence’s website includes extensive information on all members.
